AMV-France Online Contest 2026 Rules

Article 1: Contest Description
The AMV-France Online Contest is an amateur music video editing contest using music and footage from animation or video games. The contest is free to enter and non-profit.

Article 2: Submission Deadline
The submission deadline is December 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Videos must be submitted in full before this deadline.
The deadline may be changed through an official announcement by the AMV-France staff without requiring an amendment to these rules.

Article 3: Contest Organizer
The contest is organized by the AMV France association.

Article 4: Participation Requirements
4.1 The contest is free and open to everyone, except members of the jury and the organizer responsible for receiving and uploading the videos.
4.2 Videos must be exclusive to the contest and must not have been publicly released before the end of the contest.
4.3 Multiple individual or group entries are allowed, with a maximum of 5 entries per person.
4.4 AMVs, GMVs and M@Ds are allowed.
The footage used must have a direct and obvious connection to animation. Video game footage is also allowed. It may be mixed with non-animation sources (drawings, 3D, etc.).
Any video whose eligibility is unclear may be reviewed by the organizers to determine whether it can be considered an AMV for the purposes of the contest.
4.5 Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of these rules.

Article 5: Registration and Submission Procedure
Each participant must register and submit their video directly through the AMV-France website:
Profile > Contests > Online Contest 2026 > Edit button on the right > Submit my AMV
The file must follow this naming convention: The_Title.mp4 (or .mkv, .avi, etc.).

Article 6: Technical Requirements
6.1 Accepted containers are: AVI, MP4, MKV and MOV.
6.2 The file must not exceed 500 MB, with a maximum bitrate of 30 Mbps.
For optimal distribution, submitting a 4K file is recommended, while respecting the limits stated above. Otherwise, AMV-France may upscale the video for distribution purposes without intentionally altering its content.
6.3 The minimum video duration is 1 minute 30 seconds.
6.4 The video must not contain any unintended distortion, interlacing or black bars.
6.5 No logos or subtitles may appear in the video unless they are an integral part of its concept.

Article 7: Anonymity
The contest is completely anonymous. Jury members will not know the identity of the participants during the judging process.
No intro, outro, signature or any other information that could identify the creator may appear in the video.
Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification.

Article 8: Use of Artificial Intelligence
8.1 The use of artificial intelligence as an assistance tool is allowed.
8.2 Generating an entire scene using AI or using an AI-generated element as the main element of a scene is prohibited.
8.3 Secondary AI-generated elements, including backgrounds, are allowed.
8.4 In case of doubt, the organizers may ask the participant for further information regarding the use of AI in their video.

Article 9: Guarantees and Distribution Rights
9.1 Each participant guarantees that they are the creator of the submitted edit and that they have not plagiarized the work of another participant or creator.
9.2 By participating, participants agree that their work may be:
publicly shown as part of the contest;
published on the AMV-France website and channels;
used and shown at events in which AMV-France participates.

Article 10: Jury
The jury will consist of 3 people subject to AMV-France's confidentiality policy.
The organizer responsible for receiving and uploading the videos will neither participate in the contest nor serve as a member of the jury.

Article 11: Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated and ranked based on criteria including editing quality, encoding, originality, aesthetics and coherence.
The judges' scoring system will be made available at the end of the contest.

Article 12: Prizes and Awards
A total cash prize of €200 will be distributed as follows:
1st place: €100
2nd place: €50
3rd place: €30
Audience Award: €20

The prizes will be awarded in the form of gift cards, selected according to each winner's preferences and the options available in their country.
The Audience Award can be combined with a Top 3 placement.

Article 13: Video Releases and Results
Videos will be released daily on a channel dedicated to the Online Contest. Releases will begin a few days after the deadline.
An Audience Award will be determined through a vote held on the AMV-France website.
The contest results will be announced on the AMV-France website.

Article 14: Investigation Game
An Investigation Game will take place during the contest's release period.
At the end of each day of releases, users registered on the website will be able to try to match the participants with the different videos released during the contest.
Answers must be submitted through the website no later than the 3rd day following the end of the releases.
When the contest results are revealed, the Investigation Game leaderboard will also be announced, ranking players according to the number of creators they correctly identified.

Article 15: Grounds for Disqualification
15.1 The disqualification of a participant is at the discretion of the contest organizers. Any complaint or appeal may be reviewed by the organizers.
15.2 Any entry containing illegal, explicitly hateful, discriminatory, defamatory or pornographic content may result in the participant's immediate disqualification.
15.3 Plagiarism is prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification.
15.4 Failure to comply with one or more articles of these rules may result in disqualification.

Article 16: Modification or Cancellation of the Contest
AMV France reserves the right to modify, extend or cancel the contest if circumstances require it.

Article 17: Personal Data
Participants have the right to access, correct or request the deletion of their personal data in accordance with applicable regulations.
Any such request may be addressed to the AMV France association.

Article 18: Interpretation of the Rules
Any issue concerning the interpretation or application of these rules will be decided by the AMV France association.
