Article 1: Contest Description
The AMV-France AMV Awards is a contest for amateur music videos created using music and footage from anime (Japanese animated works). This contest is free and non-profit.
Article 2: Submission Deadline
The submission deadline is January 4th, 2026 at 11:59 PM. AMVs must be fully submitted before this date.
This deadline may be modified by an official announcement from the AMV-France staff without requiring changes to this regulation.

Article 4: Registration Conditions
4.1 The contest is free and open to everyone, except jury members.
4.2 Submitted videos must be created in 2025. The contest is non-exclusive, meaning the AMV may be submitted to multiple contests.
4.3 Multiple entries per person or group are allowed (2 solos or MEP + 1 MEP maximum). The person submitting the MEP and the person using one of their participation slots are taken into account.
(Examples:
Combo 1 = Solo + Solo + MEP
Combo 2 = Solo + MEP + MEP
Combo 3 = MEP + MEP + MEP)
4.4 The videos used must have a direct and obvious link to animation. Video game footage is also accepted. Mixing these images with non-animation sources (drawings, 3D, etc.) is allowed. Any clip that raises doubts will be reviewed to determine whether it qualifies as an AMV.
4.5 Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of these rules.
Article 5: Registration Procedure
Each participant (individual and/or group) must fill out the interactive registration form available exclusively on the contest registration page.
Article 6: Technical Requirements for the Clips
6.1 Videos must comply with the following formats:
Containers: AVI, MP4, MKV, MPEG, MPEG2, WMV, MOV
Video codecs: H264, H265, XviD, DivX (5, 6, and 7), MPEG, MPEG2, WMV9
Audio codecs: MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, Vorbis
Framerate: Up to 60 frames per second
6.2 The file size must not exceed 500 MB or a maximum bitrate of 30 Mb/s, unless a valid reason is provided.
6.3 The video must be at least 1 minute 30 seconds long.
Article 7: Video Submission
Videos must be uploaded via the website. A tutorial for uploading is available here: https://x.com/AMVFrance/status/1935004509522321827?s=20
The video file name must follow this format: Nickname_-_The_Title.mp4 (or .mkv, .avi, etc.).
Article 8: Guarantees
8.1 Each participant (individual or group) guarantees that they are the exclusive and sole author of their work and that it does not directly or indirectly violate any third-party rights.
8.2 Every participant agrees that their work may:
- Be publicly broadcast
- Appear on the AMV France website
- Be used during AMV France events
Article 9: Jury Composition
The jury consists of three volunteers bound by AMV France’s confidentiality charter.
Article 10: Judging Criteria
Submitted works will be scored and ranked according to criteria chosen by the judges, and these criteria will be made public at the end of the contest.
Article 11: Announcement of Results
Results will be announced on the AMV-France website and revealed in advance during the AMV Awards livestream.
Article 12: Grounds for Disqualification
12.1 Disqualification is at the full discretion of the contest organizers. All complaints will be reviewed.
12.2 Any use of pornographic, racist, defamatory, or otherwise harmful content that could affect physical or moral integrity will result in immediate disqualification.
12.3 Failure to comply with one or more articles of this regulation will also be considered grounds for disqualification.
Article 13: Contest Modification or Cancellation
AMV France reserves the right to modify, extend, or cancel the contest without prior notice. This decision, left to AMV France’s sole discretion, shall not incur any liability.
Article 14: Participant Rights
In accordance with the French Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of January 6th, 1978, you have the right to access, modify, or delete your personal data. To exercise this right, please contact the AMV France staff.
Article 15: Interpretation of the Rules
Any issue related to the interpretation of these rules will be resolved by the AMV France association.
